NIRF 2023: IIT Kanpur submitted 109 IPRs in 2022 and has since filed 950 IPRs. Only two non-IITs made the top ten: Kancheepuram's Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing and Calicut's National Institute of Technology. Both finished eighth.
NIRF 2023 Best Colleges in Innovation: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur topped the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 list of best colleges in the category of Innovation. The Ministry of Education revealed the NIRF 2023 rankings on June 5. The innovation category made its debut this year.
In terms of accomplishments, IIT Kanpur stated that it submitted 109 IPRs in 2022 and has filed 950 IPRs to date. It licences 130 technologies to industry partners, and the institute has a phenomenal translation rate of 13.68%.
IIT Kanpur was followed by IIT-Madras and IIT-Hyderabad in second and third place, respectively.
IIT-Delhi took the fourth position. IIT-Roorkee was ranked fifth, with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore ranking sixth. IIT-Bombay came in eighth place.
