A brand-new BTech course in artificial intelligence was made available on June 21 by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar. Though most of the courses are different, there are some topics that the course and BTech Computer Science share.

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Patna offer a course of a similar nature. This programme might be ideal for you if researching artificial intelligence and machine learning interests you. Here's a quick summary of the curriculum, eligibility requirements, and course structure.

Curriculum for a BTech in artificial intelligence

Core courses in AI and machine learning are included in the curriculum to reinforce the fundamentals. Beyond that, students can select speciality courses (via basket electives) in advanced AI subjects in the many disciplines of AI. and in more general CSE fields (for instance, if someone wants to specialise in hardware for AI).

Multidisciplinary are the specialisations of AI. As well as in fundamental branches of AI like Bayesian AI, these specialisations can be used. Students can, for instance, specialise in AI for life sciences, AI for mechanical engineering/robotics, AI for earth/climate science, or in the creation of novel AI algorithms. The selection of electives available to students reflects this.  Students must select electives from the "Advanced AI" category as well as from "AI clusters."

Course Structure for the BTech in Artificial Intelligence

Eight semesters make up the four-year, full-time undergraduate study. Each semester, candidates must take six to seven required subjects as well as electives.

Criteria for Admission to the BTech in Artificial Intelligence

JEE Advanced scores will be used to determine admission to all programmes. Candidates must also have passed a state or central board-recognized class 12 (or equivalent) test.

A few extra places are available for admittance through national or international science olympiads.

Artificial intelligence BTech: Job prospects

According to the institute, students are being prepared through this course for both a job in applied AI in the industry as well as for further education.
